Hi All!👋
Excited to help shape the sound of Regeneron. Below are some initial ideas on how music and sound design can bring the piece to life and help drive the narrative.
FIDELITY AT SCALE

The music should express the MONUMENTAL SCALE of 100 million while preserving the HUMAN FIDELITY of each individual moment within it.
Let's look at each phrase in turn.
MONUMENTAL SCALE
Scale can be communicated through:
1. Enveloping soundscapes that signal magnitude
There is an inviting, expansive, and almost cosmic quality to this reference that feels right. The sense of space and depth gives the sound a feeling of magnitude without becoming overly dramatic.
2. Driving rythms that makes accumulation feel like something powerful and undeniable
This reference gets especially interesting around 2:39. There’s a hypnotic quality to the drive. The momentum of the beat feels almost inevitable, while its granular, textural quality evokes the point-cloud visuals.
HUMAN FIDELITY
Human fidelity can be communicated through:
1. Authentic sonic layers that embrace imperfections
There’s a magic to this recording that doesn’t shy away from “noise.” The tape hiss, papery quality of the piano, and delicate production give the recording a distinctly authentic, human quality.
2. The human voice, abstracted
A human voice inherently carries a sense of humanity and presence. Spacious reverb and delay transform that voice into a lush, ethereal atmosphere.
Ultimately, the music should feel ambitious and expansive, capturing the magnitude of 100 million as a remarkable achievement, while still honoring the precision, care, and humanity within each individual moment.
The goal is music that lives at this intersection.

ON MUSIC & SOUND DESIGN
This piece feels particularly suited to a compositional approach where the line between music and sound design is deliberately blurred. Streams of data can become melodic motifs, while the movement through a point cloud might become a sweeping musical chord.
Below are a selection of my previous work, where this line was blurred.
And that’s it! Please let me know if you have any further ideas, thoughts, or callouts.
Thank you! 🙏
